Smart window cleaning robot for existing office building

An office building on Van Heuven Goedhartlaan in Amstelveen is set to receive a modern upgrade with the window-cleaning robot from Kite Robotics. This advanced robot will take over façade maintenance entirely, enhancing safety while also contributing to sustainable and future-proof property management.

New façade and window cleaning robot improve building performance

The façade of the building, approximately 40 metres high, was in urgent need of replacement after more than thirty years of intensive use. Due to visible defects such as leaks, the old curtain wall no longer met current technical standards. After the façade is replaced, the window-cleaning robot will be integrated, capable of automatically cleaning both the sloped atrium façade and the vertical façade. This ensures thorough and efficient cleaning without the need for manual work at height.

Safer and more efficient façade maintenance thanks to smart technology

The arrival of the Kite window-cleaning robot marks a major step forward in terms of safety and maintenance. Traditional façade cleaning methods—often involving workers on scaffolding or aerial platforms—are now a thing of the past. This significantly reduces the risk of accidents and leads to a consistently lower need for maintenance. By using smart technology, this project perfectly aligns with the building owner’s ambition to future-proof the property and reduce operational costs.

Collaboration with partners strengthens innovative project approach

The project is being carried out in close collaboration with Sweco (construction project management), Constructif (main contractor), and Braat 1844 (glass construction). The integration of Kite Robotics’ façade-cleaning robot stands as an inspiring example of how innovative technologies are shaping the future of building management.
