Smart window cleaning robot for existing office building

An office building on Van Heuven Goedhartlaan in Amstelveen receives a modern upgrade with the window-cleaning robot from Kite Robotics. This advanced robot will take over façade maintenance, which not only improves safety but also contributes to sustainable and future-proof property management.

New facade cleaning robot improves building performance

The building facade, approximately 40 meters high, was in urgent need of replacement after more than thirty years of intensive use. Due to visible defects such as leaks, the old facade no longer met current technical standards. The window cleaning robot is integrated to automatically clean both the slanted atrium facade and the flat facade. This ensures thorough and efficient cleaning without the need for manual labor at great heights.

Safer and more efficient facade maintenance thanks to smart technology

The introduction of the Kite window cleaning robot marks a major step forward in safety and maintenance. Traditional facade cleaning methods—where workers often operate from scaffolding or aerial work platforms—will become a thing of the past. This significantly reduces the risk of accidents and results in structurally lower maintenance requirements. By leveraging smart technology, this project aligns perfectly with the building owner’s ambition to make the property future-proof and reduce operating costs.

Collaboration with partners strengthens innovative project approach

The project is being carried out in close collaboration with Sweco (construction project management), Constructif (main contractor), and Braat 1844 (facade contractor). The integration of Kite Robotics’ facade-cleaning robot stands as an inspiring example of how innovative technologies are shaping the future of building management.
